West Lancashire Lodge No 65

Last evening [Wednesday, 7th March] the members of West Lancashire Lodge of Mark Masters No. 65 met at Hope Street M. H.  This was the first meeting since the Installation of W.Bro. Colin Mills, since when he had worked hard on learning the lecture in the Mark Degree.  This he delivered with style, aplomb and not a single prompt. All much appreciated by the members and their guests, W.Bro. Michael Winterbottom, Special Representative, W.Bro. Jimmy Kontzle THE Prov. G. Inspector of Works and W.Bro. Frank Taylor from Tuscan Mark.

W.Bro. Colin will be giving the lecture again this evening - at Leyland Mark Lodge, of which he is also a member.  Colin of course is one of the hard workers in our Provincial Office.

The brethren were delighted to welcome no less that THREE Craft masons to the Festive Board, one of whom is to be Advanced at our next meeting [1st Wednesday in September].

Our Master Overseer and Charity Steward, Bro. Eric Poole has, in the last few months, organised a raffle for a masonic watch.  This was drawn at the last meeting of Leyland Lodge and won by W.Bro. John Waring [in charge of security at Provincial Grand Lodge, who also works in the Provincial Office].  The money raised [£250] is for the Sesquicentenary of West Lancs Mark Lodge [Warrant 1864].
